4 Star Free Agents - Week 7

Week 7 Byes: Carolina, Dallas

Quarterbacks:

Joe Flacco (BAL) He is very much a forgotten quarterback this year, but like all seasons there is always a long play and he fits that bill in 2016. Despite their coaching changes, it seems to be for the better. I suspect they'll continue to establish a ground game and allow Flacco room to work. The Jets are a great matchup for this, and I think Flacco is a better choice than most out there. ESPN 35% Yahoo 28% NFL 23%

Brian Hoyer (CHI) Yeah, he didn't throw for a TD the 4th week in a row, but he did for 300 yards - and with no interceptions that is still respectable. If he can do that in a 17-16 clunker, I think he's a good play again this week against a questionable Packer secondary. That game being a Thursday night game only heightens the fun, trust me. ESPN 20% Yahoo 20% NFL 5%

Running Backs:

James White (NEP) Sometimes I look like I know what I'm doing. YES, when I chose him last week I firmly believed he could produce. NO, I didn't anticipate that level of production. I don't expect it this week, but now you just never know. The only sure thing is he's on the Patriots and that a good thing this season, now that Brady is back. Last chance to get him folks. ESPN 49% Yahoo 53% NFL 13%

Jay Ajayi (MIA) He's a tick high in ownership in NFL.com leagues, but his availability elsewhere needs to be noted. Unlike White above, it now appears that Ajayi has won the starting job, as the 25/5 split with Arian Foster demonstrated. There's no reason this won't continue, Adam Gase has made his choice here. The Bills are not the best matchup, but you're chasing his 25 touches. ESPN 44% Yahoo 31% NFL 54%

Jaquizz Rodgers (TB) Still under the radar. His breakout game last week came right before Tampa's bye week, and now Martin couldn't practice on this week's Monday. Monitor this all week, but if Martin is a scratch again Rodgers can deliver the goods again: the matchup against the 49ers is better in every way than it was against the Panthers game in week 5. ESPN 29% Yahoo 22% NFL 5%

Wide Receivers:

Torrey Smith (SFO) Players on the San Francisco are certainly in fantasy purgatory this year. With the clear exception of Carlos Hyde, there wasn't much happening until Kaepernick took a clear liking to Smith. As long as Kaepernick is starting, there's no reason to believe Smith can't make a perfectly fine WR3/Flex play. He's got talent, size and nice speed. Tampa has trouble with receivers and they are Smith's fortunate match up this week. ESPN 42% Yahoo 25% NFL 15%

Vincent Jackson (TB) Here's a guy who was drafted by and large and now end up here. They're coming off a bye week, s he should be rested, and Tampa needs to get their offense rolling. If there was ever a time for him to produce this year, this is the game. ESPN 35% Yahoo 41% NFL 33%

Cameron Meredith (CHI) 20 receptions he last two weeks on 27 targets. Last week he did that with Hoyer making effort to get Jeffry involved. You can't argue with that. So once again I give you Out of Nowhere Meredith. He who has one of two hot hands in the league right now. ESPN 32% Yahoo 52% NFL 13%

Tight Ends:

Hunter Henry (SD) He has the other hot hand right now: 3 straight weeks of finding the end zone, on an average of 4 catches a week. He barely qualifies this week, but there is still no better waiver option out there at this position right now than Henry. The matchup against the Falcons looks sure to be a shoot out, and the Falcons rank near the bottom in stopping tight ends. ESPN 49% Yahoo 35% NFL 25%

Defense:

Baltimore They are still available in so many leagues, with a great matchup against the Jets so heres another repeat pick from last week. It's that time of the season where some of these teams begin stringing together some nice games, and the Ravens have started doing that, on both sides of the ball. Fun fact: they play in the same stadium on the road as last week. ESPN 47% Yahoo 32% NFL 15%
